Accessibility statement for Recoveri

This accessibility statement applies to the Recoveri movement-measurement platform, served at recoveri.health and recoveri.fitness.

This website is run by Recoveri. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

• navigate all of the website using just a keyboard, including a "skip to main content" link on every page
• use the website with a screen reader, with pages correctly describing their controls, naming every chart and announcing status messages
• have every page tell your software which language it is in (English or Cymraeg), and switch language before you sign in
• use the website with the text spaced out or zoomed to 400%
• use the website with reduced motion: animation stops, and exercise diagrams freeze at the most informative point of the movement rather than disappearing

We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand, and every number the platform shows you is genuinely measured, with its accuracy limits stated.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

• The live camera capture screen gives its feedback visually. Real-time movement tracking is inherently visual. We reduce the impact with spoken voice guidance (framing instructions, coaching cues and the countdown are read aloud) and by announcing status and repetition counts to screen readers. Even so, a person who cannot see the screen at all may not be able to complete an unassisted capture with confidence.
• The alternative is built in, not bolted on. Your clinician or coach can record any session with you in clinic, operating the camera for you, with the results saved to your record exactly as a self-recorded session would be. Ask your care team: there is no extra cost and no reduced service.
• Some exercises assume standing. A seated catalogue exists (all hand and wrist exercises, seated marching, seated raises, seated knee and ankle work) and your clinician can build your programme from it.
• The whole platform is available in Welsh — what a patient or athlete sees, the clinical programme content, and the screens used by clinicians, coaches and administrators alike. Two things stay in English on purpose: the wording of validated questionnaires, because a self-made translation would invalidate the instrument (a note on the questionnaire explains this, and a licensed Welsh version is added as soon as one is available), and anything a person typed themselves, which is shown as they wrote it.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliance listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason.

Disproportionate burden / live alternative presentation. The live camera tracking overlay (the skeleton drawn over your camera image while you exercise) is a real-time visual rendering of your own movement. Making the overlay itself non-visually equivalent is not achievable with current technology; the cues, counts and results around it are not exempt and are made accessible as described above. We will review this each time the capture screen changes.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

• A native Welsh speaker’s review of the whole interface. The translation is complete and checked page by page by an automated sweep; a human read is the next step, and corrections ship as we get them.
• An assistive-technology test with the NVDA screen reader before the first pilot, and after every release that changes the capture screen.
• Automated accessibility checks run as part of our verification before every release.

This website was last tested on 15 September 2026. The test was carried out by the Recoveri development team using automated checks (axe-core 4.13, WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules) across thirteen representative pages (the front door, sign-in and password recovery, and the patient dashboard, programme, progress, wellbeing, messages, community and account pages, and the clinician caseload, alerts and messaging queue), and a keyboard-only walk-through of the same pages. The automated checks reported no WCAG A or AA violations after the issues found (chart images without names, two text colours below the contrast minimum, an unlabelled message field) were fixed the same day.
